This morning was very glad I brought the electric jacket and that the rig has a port where to plug it in. The temps were in the low 50's. when we started out about 8 am.
That was AFTER a delicious Best Western waffle breakfast with bananas, sugar-free maple syrup, peanut butter and cinnamon. Of course with plenty of hot coffee.
Today we learned if you do not wish to talk to anyone....keep riding. Sidecar Delay Factor is evident with this rig. EVERY time I stopped, first the admiring looks, then the smile and the conversation would start. I think its giving her a swelled head. EZY wanted me to call Pete and tell him she is available for the movies. Claims this is her best side.....
Learned this rig under normal acceleration and braking does not produce the pull to the right nor to the left. Take either action hard, then yes, it will pull some right and left, but not under normal riding. I think because the the bike and the sidecar are tied together so tight and strong, it acts as one unit.
With the bike set on Road mode, the ride is not harsh. Steering is perfect, turning is easy and tracks the road nicely.
Even with cruising at 70+ across that 100 mile stretch of desert east of 29 Palms, am averaging 35 mpg. With the larger GSA fuel tank, its range should be 250 miles with no worries.
Make a few side detours on unpaved roads just to see how it handled dirt, soft sand and washboard.
The desert is in full bloom this week, white, yellow and purple flowers everywhere.

Hmmm, time to turn around. There is no way a sidecar could go over those.
And NO, I did not say "Here hold my beer and watch this....."!
So how'd she do on sand?
ReplyDeleteIt wants to ride on top of the sand, which is great. The wide rear auto tire and the fat rear MC tire mounted up front may spread out the weight so to doesn't sink down in.
DeleteWill have to try deep beach sand one day.
It looks like a really nice setup. Are the subframe and leading link the leading link made by EZS?
