Villa de Leyva, Colombia

During our time in Colombia, we drove four hours from Bogotá to visit a Colombian National Treasure, Villa de Leyva.

Founded in 1572, the preserved and protected colonial village is located
high in the mountains at 7000 ft.

Selecting a midweek time to visit was ideal, few tourists and pleasant climate.
Our only challenge was trying to walk on the cobblestones without turning an ankle.
The food was delicious, the people friendly and the photo opportunities spectacular.

Here is a YouTube video of our visit.

Hasta luego,
CCjon

  1. What a beautiful video of a beautiful town! How hard did you have to work to take so many pics and vids of the plaza and streets with no people in them??! And the best pic was the perfectly timed snapshot of the guy lighting his cigarette with his shadow on the wall! Makes me want to be there! Thanks for another great tour!

    1. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Utilizing the small Nikon point-n-shoot camera plus a Go-Pro, was able to capture all of the images you saw in the video. We spent all of 48 hours in Villa de Leyva, a lovely relaxing place, midweek. They say on weekends the lines waiting to get into the restaurants are long.
